Group Coaching
The group coaching environment is a built-in support system that allows members to share their own experiences and perspectives which can serve as learning opportunities for the rest of the group, leading each client to a solution and strategy that may help them achieve their goals. It also serves to re-enforce accountability and provides connection to those on a similar journey.
Food Addiction Group Coaching
Food addicts struggle to overcome their addiction because multiple components–chemical, physical, emotional-must be addressed. It’s not quite as simple as removing the trigger food. It’s a great start and an essential part, but not enough.
Recovery from sugar addiction also requires behavior changes and strong support over an extended period of time.
The food addiction group is for those who...
- do well in a non-judgmental small group setting
- know they have lost control over food
- know they cannot moderate
- accept they have an issue and are ready to do the work
- have been diagnosed with sugar addiction
- are ready to take recovery to the next level
The food addiction group is not for those who...
- have not accepted they have an issue and need help
- are not ready to commit fully
- believe they can moderate & continue to eating trigger foods
- know they won't be 100% honest with themselves or the group

My Sugar Addiction Credentials
I have 45 years of personal experience dealing with my own sugar addiction which morphed into multiple eating disorders, exercise disorders, abuse of diuretics, laxatives, diet pills, obesity, and major health issues as well as other addictions.
I now understand this was all due to the primary illness of addiction, and I was treating the wrong issues. Thanks to the SUGAR® diagnosis tool, all the pieces of the puzzle have fallen into place.
I’m certified and licensed in SUGAR® and am currently in school for holistic medicine for addiction. I want to help others find the missing pieces to their puzzle and get the help they need, so they don’t have to suffer as long as I did.

Joni Gommo
Certified Keto Coach“Having been keto for over seven years, I knew long ago I had a problem with sweets. I knew abstaining, for me, would be the only way to break that addiction, but also that there would be moments of exacerbation as well as remissions along the way. When I signed up with Amber, however, I learned a lot more about myself and my addictions to not only sugar, but caffeine as well. She mapped out exactly when my issues with sugar started, when they peaked and what was actually happening in my life at the time. I truly saw how I had been using sugar, and later, sugar alternatives EXACTLY like a drug, because it IS a drug. I realized that I even need to avoid keto treats to stay healthy and “sober”. Understanding the psychology behind when and why I was using sugar/sugar alternatives helped me to be so much more resilient to potential temptations! Working with Amber was definitely like having an “eyes wide opened” experience. I knew I was an addict. I just didn’t realize how deep my addiction went until my assessment! Today, I am “food sober” and continue to work on my mindset every single day. I know that recovery is an ongoing, lifetime process, and I am committed to taking that one day at a time.”
